<div>
<h2 style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: magenta;"> <span style="background-color: white;">A proposal for the Process of our website</span></span></h2>
</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
First of all, I would like to say that my colleagues arranged a good survey in which they exerted good efforts but I think most of the teachers are busy nowadays in finishing the syllabus of their work so I believe it would be better if we begin our survey with some warming up questions which draws their attention to the importance of our website and enthuses them to share in seriously. So I suggest we can begin with these questions:<br />
Would your like to reach proficiency in teaching English? Yes/ No.</div>
</div>
<div dir="rtl" style="text-align: right;">
<div style="direction: ltr;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
Do you think that online education can help improving your teaching? Yes/ No</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Would you like to have your fingerprint in e-learning English? Yes/ No<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
When building the website, we as designers should think of all the steps from deciding on the website to building it to put it live.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I think the first step of the process should be defining the purpose of the website which as I think is developing English teachers proficiency through enjoying with online work, at the same time providing all necessary teaching materials as a list items ( teaching methodology articles, student learning disabilities articles, disciplinary systems discussions, lesson planning, learning videos, educational games).<br />
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Then comes the target or the goals we aspire to achieve by doing such survey which I think as all English teachers do , having a sufficient background of students' abilities and disabilities which enable us to accomplish a certain level of understanding and communicating with our students and reaching proficiency in teaching English . This could be published on the first page of the site. ( About us)</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
The second step is another Page (Educational Philosophy) in which we can our describe our main target from setting up the website."<span style="text-align: center;">What we learn with pleasure we never forget". (Alfred Mercier) Also we can mention our colleagues' aspiration as we will undertake to </span><span style="text-align: center;">achieve them through our work on the website.</span></div>
<br />
<span style="text-align: center;">After that we will complete the design we will agree on and arrange the gathered information together. </span><br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>

decide first for who it will be, for English teachers only or English teachers and
their students or all teachers in different fields or for all
people? Will it handle educational
themes only or will it include public matters or both of them? Will it be in English only or
include Arabic writings as well? I think we should consider all these suggestions
first then we will design a good survey discovering what our viewers would like to see or read about in the website. </span></div>

<span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%; mso-bidi-language: AR-EG;">Thanks to
modern technology that helped man a lot in acquiring so much knowledge, information, experiences,experiments, creation and inventions.

<div class="MsoNormal" style="direction: ltr; unicode-bidi: embed;">
<span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%; mso-bidi-language: AR-EG;">I was amazed
when seeing this incredible number of </span><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%;">micro lectures</span><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%; mso-bidi-language: AR-EG;">, videos and courses presented by </span><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%;">tutorials </span><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%; mso-bidi-language: AR-EG;">on each bit
of knowledge. On the equal, I realized the big gap between our Educational
system in Egypt which is distinguished by following the old and traditional
ways of teaching and the Western one which depends mainly on invention and
creation.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="direction: ltr; unicode-bidi: embed;">
<b><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Khan Academy</span></b><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%; mso-bidi-language: AR-EG;"> is a
non-profit educational website founded by Salman Khan.( Wikipedia,2014) He was
so courageous and creative to establish such wonderful , profitable and free e-educational organization. </span><span style="font-size: 14pt; line-height: 115%;">Not only
students at schools or universities but all people all over the world who know
how to use software can benefit and learn from these helpful tutorials as they
present the skill and the performance as well. They supported their work by valuable
detailed videos and created good varied tests and grade assignments. They help
the struggling students and encourage the good ones. The software exercises are
open sources available at any time.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="direction: ltr; unicode-bidi: embed;">
<span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%; mso-bidi-language: AR-EG;">However ,I noticed
that most if not all of the courses, the lectures and videos mainly focused on <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mathematics" title="Mathematics"><span style="color: windowtext;">math</span><span style="color: windowtext;">ematics</span></a>,
<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Healthcare" title="Healthcare"><span style="color: windowtext;">health care</span></a>,

science</span></a> and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microeconomics" title="Microeconomics"><span style="color: windowtext;">microeconomics</span></a>. I didn't find lectures or videos talking about
teaching languages.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="direction: ltr; unicode-bidi: embed;">
<span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%; mso-bidi-language: AR-EG;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="direction: ltr; unicode-bidi: embed;">
<span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%; mso-bidi-language: AR-EG;">In addition to all what Dr Maha had said about the different merits of
using moocs which I totally agree with, I think Moocs is the most beneficial
site for me and I hope to continue sharing in and benefit from in my work soon. This site would
help anyone who wants to develop his proficiency in any branch not only the
languages. Through Moocs, we can replace the traditional class setting into dynamic and lively class if we choose topics that students are eager to learn about or
interested in to ensure following and learning via an attractive and enjoable media like Moocs. I have known that Moocs ( Alison) introduces the assistance for
teachers to monitor students progress through</span><span style="color: #505050; font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%;"> </span><span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 115%; mso-bidi-language: AR-EG;">creating
groups for them with Alison Manager account. Once the students set up
their accounts in Alison, The interface will make it easy for us to control our
group on line. We will choose the suitable content and use the assessment
provided for each content to follow our students and test their progress. Teachers will improve
the teaching process with regular feedback from their students through Alison Manager.
I hope I can manage to set up my own group with my students on Moocs but of
course I will need help.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

Hi everybody, When I returned home that day I thought a lot of was was presented by Dr. Maha, what she meant by the game, I found that she wanted us to comprehend that the students who we teach or deal with daily are totally varied in their backgrounds, circumstances, religions and intelligence and all these factors affect our students learning at different degrees as the people she introduced in the play She wanted us to estimate all these differences in our teaching and appreciate their achievements on all levels. I think Dr. Maha conveyed her message in an intelligent way through her game with the papers.<br />
<br />
Secondly, She practically introduced the lesson she wanted us to learn when she divided the board into sections to ask us about our opinions and problems concerning the diploma, our schools ..etc.and accepted the discussion with all arguments and tried seriously to find solutions. <br />
<br />
valentina's recommendation encouraged me to make an account on Twitter. I opened Dr. Maha account but I couldn't follow her writings yet. I hope inshallah I could use it well as blogs.<br />
<br />
I should thank both of Dr. Maha and valentina for their co operation and caring for us.<br />

Welcome back to our blogs my colleagues. I'm so happy that Dr.Maha is our instructor in this course . Throughout the different courses of this diploma.,I asked myself several times about the best way to integrate technology in teaching, how to use it to facilitate learning, to change our students from being dependent to be independent learners. I found out that the best way is to begin with some vital and important steps which I consider them <span style="color: magenta;">my short term goals</span><span style="color: lime;"> </span><div>
<span style="color: lime;"><br /></span><div>
* First of all, I think I should establish a good understanding to the role of technology in self and remote learning in addition to the familiar mission of communicating with others.<br /><div>
<span style="color: lime;"><br /></span><div>
* I will show my students the other beneficial side of technology in learning and that it is not for amusement only, and that could be achieved through every technological tool in their hands or the available media.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
* I need to learn more efficiently about the best and the shortest way of finding information about certain topics as I still find some difficulty in this. </div>
</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
* I will help my students to recognize the framework of different resources that will help them to build their own opinions or support their writing or even take photos or videos from ( e.g. a magazine, a newspaper, a book, a website,..etc) . I will do this to prepare them to the next step which is teaching them the rules of copyright and avoiding plagiarism, and I think learning these rules of quoting or paraphrasing will extend to be a long term goal during their the students' work.</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
* For myself I need to decide how to divide my classes into groups and how I will take a permission to surf the internet during the school periods and how many periods I will take to show them the different sites and discuss with them the frames of the resources. How I will convince my students to learn new ways of acquiring knowledge or information or to share in an additional work in this short term.</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
* I need to know more about assessment and find out more educational websites that can be used later on a larger scale.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<span style="color: magenta;">On the long run</span><span style="background-color: white;">,</span><span style="background-color: white;"> I'm going to encourage them to set up their own blogs as means to follow up their work or </span><span style="background-color: white;"> their own portfolios as</span><span style="background-color: white;"> personal means to publish anything they want about themselves.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: white;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: white;">* Also I will <a name='more'></a>direct myself and my students as well to find other new technological tools that we can benefit from or communicate by.</span></div>

Hello everybody, I missed you so much Dr Joy and all my colleagues as well. I feel that long time passed without meeting you. Sending you a blog is the best means to express worry about the agitated atmosphere in Egypt these days and I would like you to tell me about your thoughts and opinions of the new constitution. Thanks to Dr Joyanne , Now we are able to exchange different opinions, information and thoughts about every thing,not only the educational matters through our blogs. We also shared watching videos from which we benefited a lot and had a good idea about each others exciting passions and different interests. At first when Dr Joyanne directed us to set our own blogs and then use them to send our comments on each session, I faced many obstacles in writing because I didn't know how to get the dashboard page and how to download a video on my blog, all these things and others were new. Also I was confused about the real importance of using these blogs in this diploma, but now I overcame this and realized its valuable impacts on learning and connecting people. We can learn from each others experiences and acquire more information and knowledge about different cultural backgrounds.We can affect people and be affected by them. These blogs create some kind of integration, collaboration and exchanging different thoughts among people even if they don't know each other. </div>

Dear all my colleagues ,it was of a great pleasure to see ourselves struggling to achieve our final goals in this race of using technology in teaching. It was beneficial to see different ways of presentation that is totally different from ours even if we don't appeal some of them, we should appreciate that these ways as they have their implication and educational effects on their students. We spent about three months listening, trying new tools, doing mistakes and asking each other, sending emails and expressing opinions ,sharing information and ideas through blogs. All this was under the wise supervision of Dr Joy. She followed a very good method of guiding her students to work together in an integrated and indirect way without giving direct instructions, in a very delicate and smooth way.She is considerable,gracious and thoughtful when she excused any of us who has a difficult circumstance. She was generous to hear all of us doing our presentation without interrupting our performance although we exceeded the limited time. We should thank her for all her efforts and wish her a wonderful life </div>

Dear all my colleagues, I think we all spent much time thinking and asking ourselves about the best means to be well-qualified teachers and how to accomplish our targets in education, what is education? what is our real role in graduating independent, informed, and connected students? how can we get variety of information and what are the reliable sources for that? I think this video has answered all our questions and paved us the way for using technology in education. It gives us basic meaning of education and the difference between entertainment and engagement in education. I hope you will benefit from it.<br />

This my colleague Osama is talking about the challenges of using technology in our schools. think that Osama was right when he says that some teachers don't have the desire to use technology in teaching but I think this is because they didn't see effective outcomes of using technology in teaching, may be because they aren't efficient enough for using technology and due to the lack of training that the ministry of education and other organizations introduce for the teachers in public or governmental schools, or it maybe because the schools aren't well equipped with enough computers or the internet connections or provided with data shows screens, because these schools are in poor districts and don't have the same privileges as experimental or private schools. Although these are major factors in reducing the use of technology in classrooms we have other alternatives like mobile phones, our own laptops and i pads through which we can achieve our targets.</div>

Last week we discussed a vital and important element in the teaching process which is the management of the classroom. This reminds me with what we studied in methodology. It includes different aspects like ;warming the students up for the new lesson, timing of the tasks, distributing tasks among students, collaboration between students and their colleagues concerning certain activities and defining a good assessment for the students understanding and a good evaluation for both the student and the teacher work. And this will take place through a good monitoring of the students behavior. In this respect I can say that monitoring students depends greatly on the way teachers follow to involve SS and attract their attention to what he or she introduces. Here comes the old sayings that the teacher is an actor who plays different roles on the stage every day and also comes the effective role of using technology to attract students attention to the lesson and to the teacher. It also ingrates them in the work in the way that accelerates the learning acquisition and introduces a good outcome of well-educated citizens.</div>

My passion is cooking. I'm really fascinated by new recipes and new tastes.but I think there is another passion on its way to my heart. It began to steal my time and never let me think of my former passion, it is technology. I tried several times to get this video successful without being bored, then finally, it became true and I found myself talking on a video on the internet. I think it is a very good way to make students express their opinions and thoughts without feeling shy because their friends or relatives are who video them . these cams can be used by students to video each others wok or they can be used as a tool for keeping order in shambles classes as Ominya mentioned. Also video cams can be used by teachers and administrators who want to address their students on a certain theme.</div>

This session was great. It reminded us with our early years of learning. Although I love Arabic language and Arabic poetry, I found it wasn't easy to teach it. But there was a great difference between the two ways of teaching . In the past we learnt Arabic by repeating , elicitation, dictating words but now We use modern technology to teach Arabic Alphabet and words. We tried with much effort to design the best outline for teaching . We were integrated in the work to the extent that we forget we are English teachers not Arabic. We collaborated to find the easiest and effective way to teach However, what made laughed and feel ashamed at the same time that we find it perplexing to teach our own native language. </div>

Last session before Eid was a practical and fruitful lesson. I learnt how to write an academic reference sheet following APA reference and that wast what I needed from the beginning because it is the basis for academic writing . I think we should have learnt this kind of writing during our university studies. Instructors should have taught us these kinds to be qualified for post graduate studies. It would have been something useful to learn before teaching our students something we have no idea about. I think that Dr Joy helped us a lot with this practice because the usage become clear now than before.</div>

I'm really fascinated by this session presentation. I liked these ways of integrating technology in teaching and eager to know more but i ask myself and you as well.''Are we all keen on using technology in our classrooms without withdrawing to our old methods or longing to follow the monotony steps of teaching. I think if we actually followed these ways in presenting our lessons enhanced by using different tools of technology , the outcome would be something valuable and precious. Also I should appreciate Dr.Joy guidance and helping for us</div>

Dear all, I think after some sessions it becomes clear now that technology can play an important role in increasing communication and interaction among people. It provides us with the needed means to share others opinions and thoughts. Also we can exchange our ideas , knowledge and information through different technological tools. Today I'm introducing this video as a new tool to produce your own work through this glogster which is better than any poster.I hope to enjoy seeing this film<br />

I really feel excited with my new learning phase.Every session adds to my knowledge, activate and refresh my mind by academic reading and writing. I hope that our curriculum would apply all these tools in our teaching and classify them in units so that all teachers would apply them without withdrawing to older methods .</span></div>

A reflection on the first session of our diploma <br />
<br />
<br />
Hello every body I'm so pleased to tell you that I finally made my blog page. It was a great chance for me to join this diploma and meet this wonderful group. I think it was a successful and fruitful session although I think it was better if we make this session as an orientation only instead of being responsible for a lot of assignment half an hour before ending the session. Generally I admire our new instructor Dr Joyanne , she is helpful,and did all her best to clarify every thing wanted from us. She is a civilized and well understanding person, tolerant to accept any comment from her students. </div>
